Reception has had a very busy term! We have been learning about all kinds of heroes both real and imaginary.
We have found out about the role of police officers, fire fighters, nurses, soldiers and postmen. We had visits from a nurse, a soldier and the police. We asked them lots of questions and listened carefully to find out about their jobs.

We wrote postcards to send home using our sounds to help us. We walked to the post office to buy a stamp and post our postcard. The post box was quite big and so we needed a bit of help to post our letters- we had lots of fun!

We have been singing lots of number songs about heroes and have been learning to add two groups of soldiers to find out how many there are altogether. We painted a picture of our favourite heroes and talked about what job they did and how they helped people.

We talked about our favourite superheroes such as Ben 10, Superman, Spiderman and Batman. We designed our own superheroes. We decided on a name for our superhero and talked about what special powers they had. We then designed and made superhero capes and masks.
We also made some amazing Ben 10 watches. Firstly we designed our watch, then followed our design to make them and then thought about how we could make it better next time.
To end our theme we had a celebratory superhero party. Everybody came in dressed as their favourite hero. We played games such as super statues, and danced to superhero music. We had a delicious picnic outside then played on the tyres and the grass. It was a fun day and a brilliant way to end our theme.
