This term the nursery have been listening to and acting out the story, ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’
They set off around the nursery garden and school grounds to explore the swishy, swashy grass, the deep, cold river, the squelchy, squerchy mud, the big, dark forest and the narrow, gloomy cave.
Back at nursery they worked creatively to represent all the things they’d seen.
They made grassy and watery pictures with paper and paint. They mixed clay and water to make their own mud and they used clay, twigs and leaves to make trees.
When they eventually found a bear in the cave in the nursery garden they run away as fast as they could and decided they would never go on a bear hunt again!
